The Ron Tomczak Annual 5K LIft & Run was established to commemorate a local high school teacher and football coach. During his 46-year career, Ron Tomczak touched the lives of many young men and women, inspiring them through his passion for health and fitness. Come out and enjoy the fun and competition while donating to a good cause: The Ron Tomczak Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The race consists of two activities: a bench press, and a 5K run. Men will bench press their body weight. Women will bench press 50% of their body weight. For each repetition that is completed, 20 seconds will be deducted from your 5K time. Yes, that means if you can bench press a lot of reps, you may have a negative finish time! The bench press is completely optional. Following the 5K will be a 100-yard dash for children ages 4 - 12.
