Melody - Group Fitness Instructor
Melody Roberts, CYT, E-RYT 200, RYT 500, noticed something different when she first began to practice yoga, she felt more grounded, calmer, more alert, and simply more at ease with herself. Gradually yoga became a primary focus and led her on a journey that she relates to as “coming home.” Inspired by the healing and transformational qualities of yoga, she wished to share her passion for the practice. She was spiritually guided to attend a 200 hour Vinyasa Teacher Training Certification Program, where she studied directly under Acclaimed Author, Yoga Teacher, and Program Director, Rolf Gates. Melody began teaching in 2009. She feels honored to be an ongoing student of Rolf Gates, who continues to inspire her today. She recently completed his 500 hour Advanced Teacher Training Program in June, 2011. Melody teaches at various studios in the Chicagoland area, and has the pleasure of providing corporate lunchtime classes for employees, onsite. She has also enjoyed bringing yoga into her local community high school and teaching children of all ages. She continues to study at every opportunity with master teachers. She loves to explore various styles of yoga and has had the privilege of studying yin yoga with Paul Grilley, Sarah Powers, and Master Paulie Zinc. She has also had the honor of studying with Tias Little, Rod Stryker, Ashley Turner, Seane Corn, Yoga Master, Max Strom, and Renowned International Meditation Teacher, Elesa Commerse. She’s grateful for all those who have assisted her in receiving this training, and for all the students who continue to inspire her to stay and grow on this path. Melody sees yoga as a wonderful tool for managing overwhelming times in our lives. Having personally experienced the healing effects of a yoga practice, she cherishes the opportunity to help others find their own way on the yogic path. Melody encourages students to begin to notice how our personalities and habitual patterns show up on the mat, and how we can begin to practice with integrity so that the merit of the practice can flow into the way we live our lives. She emphasizes the relationship between the alignment in a posture and the alignment in life, and focuses heavily on the breath as a means to connect the mind, body, and spirit. Melody truly feels privileged to help others discover their own inner light and the truth of who they are, and feels so honored to be a part of their evolutionary journey.

Elyssa - Group Fitness Instructor
Elyssa came to yoga in 1998 when the health club she had been teaching aerobics and strength training at asked if she would take a weekend workshop to learn to teach yoga. From that weekend she learned that first, yoga cannot be learned in a weekend; and second, this was the best thing that had ever happened to her! After that weekend, Elyssa delved into studying yoga by attending other workshops and filling her bookshelf. She has completed her 200 hour certification with Moksha Yoga and continues to further her yoga education attending workshops with master teachers. Elyssa’s early practice was based in restorative poses to help relieve life stresses and then progressed to an athletic Astanga practice. Vinyasa flow blended with hatha naturally evolved out of this practice and became the style she likes best to teach. Expect an invigorating practice that will challenge you to find a new edge without leaving you feeling drained. CYT-200hr, AFAA Group Fitness, ACSM Personal Trainer.

Bridget - Group Fitness Instructor
Bridget's interest in yoga started 10 years ago, when she was experiencing back problems and needed to find an alternate means of exercise. She found that, for her, yoga provided the perfect balance for fitness: cardio, strength training and discipline. In 2010, she received her 200-hour teacher training certification through Moksha Yoga Center in Chicago. Since receiving her certification, she has enthusiastically pursued additional training with master teachers Tias Little, Aadil Palkhivala, Rod Stryker, Maty Ezraty, and Gabriel Halpern. Bridget's desire is to teach students proper alignment and body awareness through a mix of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga styles. Pranayama (breath exercises) will also be taught in her classes so that students can learn to focus their senses inward and calm their mind.
